We are pleased to announce that Yaara Zach is the winning artist of the Ann and Ari Rosenblatt Prize for Visual Art 2022.
Yaara Zach has been chosen by the jury committee:
Galia Bar Or, Dalit Matatyahu, Kobi Ben-Meir, Arie Berkowitz, Orly Hoffman
Ann and Ari Rosenblatt.
Yaara Zach is a multidisciplinary artist who shifts between the local space and the personal-private sphere. In her works, readymade materials are transformed, deconstructed and reconstructed, bringing private memory and collective memory together. The result is a fantastic world with an identity and a system of signs all its own, which responds to climatic and socio-political changes. Zach lures the viewers into her work, forging an interactive relationship with them which resembles a dance choreography taking place between the two parties in the space. Since the outset of her career, Zach has developed a unique personal language, which draws inspiration from the human figure, delving into human consciousness and perception, and introducing questions challenging our society and culture.
Yaara Zach (b. 1984) lives and works in Tel Aviv.
Zach holds a BFA and an MFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Multidisciplinary Art, at Shenkar College.
Her works have been featured in exhibitions at galleries and museums in Israel and around the world including The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; Tel Aviv Museum of Art; the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art; the Berardo Collection Museum, Lisbon; The artists' house in Brno; Givon Gallery, Tel Aviv; Artport Gallery, Tel Aviv; Ashdod Museum of Art; Haifa Museum of Art; and Petach Tikva Museum of Art.
